Bunratty Castle

In May of 1969, Grandmom, Aunt Eliza, and their friend from Williamstown, Sara Savage, took a trip to Ireland.

In this photo, they are enjoying a meal at Bunratty Castle in County Clare. Left to right: Aunt Eliza, Grandmom, and Sara. The dark haired lady is the hostess.

The Castle was built in the middle of the 15th century. It stands on what was formerly an island, the island of Tradraighe, on the northern bank of the Shannon river.

Below is the menu that Grandmom saved.
